Église du Gésù

Recommended price: 7 euros<
Artists: Céline Gambini (head chef at Labo Lol) – Sissi Rada (harp and vocals) and Loriane Llorca (organ).
Residency end organized in partnership with the SHAPE+ platform, co-financed by the European Union and Pro Helvetia, and with Toulouse les Orgues.
The concert will be followed by a discussion with the artists, moderated by journalist Emilie Laystary.
What will it be about?
An invitation to put an ear to the tongue, to question our curiosity through taste, whether musical or food-related, focusing on the textures and emotions that cooking and music may or may not have in common!
Textures, emotions, impressions, taste… are all terms common to discussions around cooking and music. However, do we really perceive a correspondence between the effects produced by musical textures on the ear and those of the texture of food on our tongue?
We offer the public an astonishing sensory experience where taste and hearing will be brought into harmony
During the first residency, which will take place in May, chef Céline Gambini (Labo Lol) will assist with the creative work alongside organist Loriane Llorca and harpist Sissi Rada. Listening to the work of the two musicians will allow her to transform the sensations provoked by the music into culinary delights.
During the concert, we will invite the audience to synchronize their tasting with the music and perceive whether the chef’s interpretation matches their own perceptions.
To deepen and put the experience into perspective, we have invited journalist Emilie Laystary, who will lead a discussion with the artists after the concert.
Biographies
- Céline Gambini : Labo lol is a way to give free rein to her creativity and taste for experimentation. Through this project, the chef creates a cuisine that reflects her personality, exploring varied collaborations and integrating an artistic and environmental dimension into her work. Whether through partnerships with local producers or shared experiences with artists, each encounter enriches her approach and fuels her inspiration.

- Loriane Llorca : A graduate of the CNSMD in Paris with a Master’s in Organ Performance and a Master’s in Continuo, Loriane Llorca is passionate about the immense repertoire of music from the Middle Ages to today. While championing the classical organ repertoire, she also develops a new, experimental approach to these ancient instruments, particularly through improvisation, particularly with her duo ATÒM (Organ, Organetto, and Electric Hurdy-Gurdy).

- Sissi Rada : Sissi Makropoulou is a versatile harpist, composer, and electronic music artist based in Athens and Berlin. With a distinguished career as a harpist, she has collaborated with prestigious ensembles such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Deutsche Oper, and MusicAeterna, and has performed as a soloist with the Athens National Orchestra, Sinfonietta Köln, and Nordwestdeutsche Sinfonietta. In addition to her classical work, she creates and performs her own music under the name Sissi Rada, where she blends harp and experimental sounds, seamlessly blending classical traditions with contemporary innovation. She has released works on Stroom Records, Kryptox, Inner Ear, and Brilliant Classics.

- Emilie Laystary : A social journalist, Émilie Laystary writes for Libération and teaches a social issues seminar in the “Drink, Eat, Live” master’s program at Sciences Po Lille. For several years, she hosted the podcast Bouffons (Nouvelles Écoutes), which dissects our lifestyles through the prism of food. Her first book, “Petit Traité de la bouffe” (Marabout / Hachette) is an introduction to food studies. Her next work, an essay published by Divergences, will be released in the fall.
